Brief

Create a brand for a company of holiday apartments which embodies the spirit and heritage of its origin in a small town called Gósol in the Pyrenees.

In this small town, every house has its own name, and Cal Baste proudly stands as the name of our apartment block. Our main goal is simple: we want to make you feel at home while also connecting you deeply with the beauty of nature. After my research, it was clear that many hotels and restaurants in Gósol, lacked vibrant designs and unique branding.

Many establishments featured bland color schemes dominated by greys and blues and used similar fonts, making the market atmosphere quite stale. Seeing this, I saw an opportunity to inject vibrancy and modernity into the industry around the area.

In this small town, every house has its own name, and Cal Baste is the name of the apartment block.

Cal Baste primary objective is to evoke a sense of home, while also a strong connection with nature.

The color palette was inspired by the hues of the Pyrenean trees, and also a beige color inspired by the tones of the facades of the houses in Gosol.

The arched window featured in our logo was inspired by the shape of the doors of Gosol. And of course, the mountain outline pays homage to El Pedraforca, the iconic peak that embraces Gosol.
